We have witnessed yet another historic moment for Turkish motorsports. Our national representative, Deniz Öncü, secured the title of the first Turkish rider ever to win a Moto2 race with his outstanding performance at the Moto2 Aragon Grand Prix. This victory, which filled Türkiye with pride, marked a golden moment as Deniz inscribed his name in our motorsports history with his courage and determination on the track.

Victory Sealed in the Final Corner

In the second half of the race, Deniz Öncü increased his pace. On lap 13, he overtook Baltus to regain the lead and began setting strong lap times. In the final lap, Diogo Moreira briefly moved ahead, but Deniz reclaimed the lead with a decisive move at the last corner, crossing the finish line first by just 0.003 seconds. Thus, he became the first Turkish rider in history to win a Moto2 race — a victory that sparked great excitement on the track and in the stands.

Hearing the Turkish National Anthem on the podium made this meaningful victory even more special. In those moments, we all felt immense pride and emotion. Deniz Öncü’s success represents a turning point in the history of Turkish motorsports. His determination and courage on the track will serve as an inspiration and example for young riders. As Torque-MX, we sincerely congratulate Deniz and wish him continued success.
